Dr. Fan graduated from West China University of Medical Sciences (which is known as West China Medical Center, Sichuan University) with a postgraduate degree in ophthalmology. Dr. Fan has been engaged in ophthalmology clinical, scientific research and teaching work for more than 30 years, and has won many national and provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards, and has published more than 80 papers in core journals at home and abroad. Dr. Fan is also the executive editorial board member of the Journal of Hospital Clinical Practice (2007), Western Medicine (2006), the Chinese Journal of Optometry (2010), and the International Review of Ophthalmology (2011).
Dr. Fan has partnered with the Dean A McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma to establish the Sichuan China-US Ophthalmology Residency Training Center, which has been operating successfully for over 10 years. As an organizer, Dr. Fan has participated in organizing multiple Chengdu international ophthalmology academic exchanges, Sichuan ophthalmology academic exchanges, ophthalmology academic exchange of the Chinese Medical Association and Sichuan ophthalmic rehabilitation academic exchanges.
