Dr. Zhou has been engaged in clinical research in ophthalmology for more than 30 years. In 1997, she carried out phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation, and was the first to carry out iris-clamped and posterior chamber IOL implantation for high and ultra-high myopia in China, and was one of the first experts to carry out femtosecond laser surgery in China. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various refractive errors, cataracts and complicated eye diseases. She has completed more than 40,000 phacoemulsification surgeries, more than 30,000 excimer femtosecond laser surgeries, more than 30,000 femtosecond laser small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE), and more than 20,000 intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.

Dr. Zhou has published more than twenty academic articles in domestic and international journals. She has won the third prize of provincial science and technology progress and the first prize of city science and technology progress. Dr. Zhou has been invited to attend and speak at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) annual meeting and has been awarded the title of "World's No. 1 in IOL implantation volume" at the International Visian ICL Symposium in London in November 2014.
